MEET THE PERFORMERS

Andy Cooney returns to Carnegie Hall with his outstanding voice and dynamic stage presence has always been a favorite among American and Irish audiences everywhere.  His talent and versatility provide the ability to deliver a song directly to the hearts of his audience.  Andy is surely one of the greatest singing sensations on the stage today.  Being christened “Irish America’s Favorite Son” by The New York Times, is a title he truly deserves.  Andy is a musician, songwriter, vocalist and true entertainer.  Andy is known to be a true professional bringing the best of entertainment wherever he performs.  Andy’s latest release, “It’ll Be Me”, is Andy’s best yet.  Recorded in Ireland with the RTE Concert Orchestra, Andy’s true vocal range and ability to deliver these powerful selections puts him in a league of his own.  “It’ll Be Me” also features Andy performing a duet with Crystal Gayle.  Legendary artist Larry Gatlin wrote the title track and joins Andy Cooney and Irish Tenor,    Ronan Tynan on the track, It’ll Be Me.

Crystal Gayle, from symphony halls to Carnegie Hall…from the best kept stages in Las Vegas to the prestige of the London Palladium... one word—“Crystal”—crossed musical genres and oceans.  Her CBS prime time special was followed by an equally groundbreaking HBO concert special viewed by millions.  She appeared in Bob Hope’s historic NBC-TV Special, “On The Road To China.”  She was seen hosting the “American Music Awards,” the “Academy Of Country Music Awards,” and her third network special, “A Crystal Christmas from Sweden.”   She swept through tours—and repeat tours—of the U.S., Japan, England, Canada, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Australia and the Far East.  In the wake…her hit list of platinum and gold record sales was to be matched only by her awards and accolades.  CMA’s “Female Vocalist Of The Year,” for two consecutive years, she became a Grammy Award Winner for “Best Female Vocal Performance,” thanks to her beloved “Brown Eyes” – a song that she today admits she has never grown tired of singing.  Crystal swept the Academy Of Country Music Awards for three of their “Top Female Vocalist” statuettes.  She is the recipient of three “American Music Awards” –voted by the nation as America’s “Favorite Female Artist.”  One of the most fitting honors in her career came in 1999 when “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” was recognized by ASCAP as one being one of the ten most performed songs of the 20th century. Like fine wine…time has been nothing but kind to Crystal Gayle.

Eileen Ivers, has been called a “sensation” by Billboard magazine and “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin” by The New York Times. “She electrifies the crowd with a dazzling show of virtuoso playing” says The Irish Times.  Ivers' recording credits include over 80 contemporary and traditional albums and numerous movie scores.  Eileen was the star fiddler from Riverdance, founding member of Cherish the Ladies, Grammy awarded musician, has performed for Presidents and Royalty worldwide…this is a short list of accomplishments. Eileen has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. The daughter of Irish immigrants, Eileen grew up in the culturally diverse neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. Rooted in Irish traditional music since the age of eight, Eileen proceeded to win nine All-Ireland fiddle championships, a tenth on tenor banjo and over 30 championship medals, making her one of the most awarded persons ever to compete in these prestigious competitions.

Ryan Cooney, the concert stage is no stranger to young Ryan Cooney. Ryan has enjoyed many great achievements both on television and the concert stage.  Ryan has been performing virtually his entire life.  From having primary roles in national TV commercials such as Rice-a-Roni and McDonalds at ages 4 through 6 to performing regularly on stage with his Dad, Andy Cooney.  Now at the tender age of twelve he is right at home with his audience.  This is Ryan Cooney’s third performance at Carnegie Hall.  In his first performance, March 2008, he displayed his amazing Irish dancing talents as he appeared with Ireland’s premier tenor Ronan Tynan.  Last December he appeared with his Dad, Andy Cooney at Carnegie Hall and brought down the house with his singing of The Little Drummer Boy with the Symphony Orchestra.  This is truly a young star in the making.
